Today's Google Search: The Lion King

Today seems to be a "The Lion King" day on Google searches. The same occurences from my previous post are happening, but this time the search terms are:

In what Broadway theater is the musical “The Lion King” currently playing?

Once again, it seems as though this search phrase may have been posted on a website or something, and visitors of that unknown site have clicked and found All Info About Musicals.

Where are all of you coming from? I'm just curious...has a site somewhere out there posted a link to a Google search, using these aforementioned words? If you're a visitor to this blog, from one such referral, please leave a comment and share whereabouts you stumbled upon the Google search that so many seem to be using today. :o)

(By the way, if you're wondering where "The Lion King" is playing on Broadway, just click here.)

Little Women is Closing on Broadway

The Broadway run of Little Women is coming to a close. The show's last performance will be THIS coming Sunday, May 22 at 2pm at the Virginia Theatre. Sutton Foster, who plays "Jo March," was nominated for the only Little Women-related Tony Award, but three websites currently have it nominated among their listings for site-wide awards.

In an e-mail from "Blogger Tom," the musical's official blogger and part of the musical's webteam, he says:

"To honor the memory of LITTLE WOMEN, we encourage you to VOTE for the show in the numerous on-line contests! Broadway.com has us in 7 of their categories, Playbill.com has one tied in with VISA, and BroadwayWorld.com lists every possible nominee in each category- plus it shows you live results as well. What better way to show your support than by voting for this special show?"

Sounds good to me! I'm also working on creating a poll with Little Women among the nominees, and I'll further update when that is available! In the meantime, don't be too discouraged. The family-friendly musical will begin touring nationwide this summer! The 30-city nationwide tour is supposed to begin in August, in San Diego. Maureen McGovern, who created the role of Marmee on Broadway, will continue the role during this tour.

No matter what, Little Women will live on forever. I will share more information as I learn it.

Google Search Phenomenon?

Wow, All Info About Musicals has had a bunch of hits all being referred from a Google search using the phrase:

In what Broadway theater is the musical “The Phantom of the Opera” currently playing?

(And other variations of the same phrase.)

It seems as though this search phrase may have been posted on a website or something, and visitors of that unknown site have clicked and found AIA Musicals. A phenomenon, if you ask me.

Where are all of you coming from? I'm just curious...has a site somewhere out there posted a link to a Google search, using these aforementioned words? If you're a visitor to this blog, from one such referral, please leave a comment and share whereabouts you stumbled upon the Google search that so many seem to be using today. :o)

(By the way, if you're wondering where "The Phantom of the Opera" is playing on Broadway, just click here.)

Also, lots more is coming soon to All Info About Musicals. I've been working diligently on the "ratings" pages, and will be uploading them soon, hopefully this weekend! I'm also looking into a message board and newsletter for the website, as well as frequent polls. With the Tony Awards just around the corner, this is a great time for polls! :o)

Have a great weekend!

Monty Python's Spamalot on "The View"

Monday morning (May 2nd) I happened to watch "The View," and had the pleasure of seeing the three men who play the leading roles in Monty Python's Spamalot, now on Broadway! Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce, and Hank Azaria were all wonderful, and they chatted with the ladies of "The View" for a short while.

Did you know that Tim Curry is the only British actor in the bunch? Sure, David Hyde Pierce speaks with eloquence not often heard in the U.S., but he is not British. Tim Curry made the statement, however, that they all do magnificently well with their accents for the show, Monty Python's Spamalot.

The multi-talented actors shared how the demographics of people coming to see this show are changing. Men, younger (and even straight) men, even, are seeing and loving this show! Men who probably avoided musicals at all costs before are laughing hysterically at Monty Python's Spamalot!

If you love the movie, don't miss out on this fantastic musical that's taking Broadway, and soon the rest of the world, by storm!

Welcome to All About Musicals!

Welcome to the All About Musicals blog! My name is Julia Temlyn, and am a writer, proofreader, and editor. My writing/editing business is housed at Temlyn Writing Services. I am the editor and correspondent for All Info About Musicals, at musicals.allinfoabout.com. This blog is intended to be a supplement to the AIA Musicals site, and will be used for sharing tidbits of information about musicals, both stage and film. Entertainment news updates and other musical-related information will be housed here.

The idea of creating a blog to supplement my writing at AIA Musicals came about when I was thinking of a way to periodically update with the winners of the 2005 Tony Awards. Updating directly at the AIA Musicals site would be quite a task every 15 minutes or so, on commercial breaks. So, I've decided to post that information -- as it happens! -- on this blog. I will be sharing up-to-the-minute information on the Tony Awards, as they take place Sunday June 5, 2005.

I will update with the 2005 Tony Awards nominations first thing on Tuesday May 10, as soon as they are announced, which should be 8:30AM (eastern time)! Stay tuned!
